The Architecture of Memorial Bend

Verdi

Though very few people in Memorial Bend are aware of this, Verdi, the small street that runs from the beltway feeder to the back of the new Memorial Bend Place Townhomes/Alexan Memorial Bend, once was the site of a residence. The house was located where the beltway pumping station is now located. According to Mark Simmons who grew up at 217 Mignon, the house had an interesting feature:

"Are you aware of the modern style homes that were built with indoor pools? One was at the corner of Verdi & West Belt where the toll road storm water pumping station sits now. The pool was in the center of the house with the rooms surrounding three sides."
