Houston Mod is excited to partner with the American Institute Architects Houston Chapter for the Historic Resources Committee Speaker Series. These monthly talks will present exceptional historic preservation/adaptive reuse projects, lessons learned, and innovative strategies for professionals working with existing or historic buildings. This month’s lecture by Shannon Shea Miller, Beyond Design Review: Education and Outreach of Historic Preservationwill present various community engagement strategies for increasing knowledge and advocacy within a community and how to be an effective spokesperson for historic preservation.   

Shanon Shea Miller, AICP, is the City of San Antonio’s Historic Preservation Officer and Director of the Office of Historic Preservation. Shannon has implemented an award winning preservation program in San Antonio that includes extensive education and outreach, technical training, a comprehensive designation initiative, design and development review, and much more.
