Please join us to celebrate the kickoff of MODern Month at the 1952 Melrose Building, Houston’s first skyscraper designed in the International Style by Lloyd & Morgan. The recent transformation from an abandoned office building to the Le Méridien Hotel was awarded a 2017 Houston Mod Preservation Award. Enjoy light snacks and beverages with fellow modern enthusiasts at the Hoggbirds Rooftop Lounge. We hope to see you there!
Houston Mod established MODern Month in April 2010 to bring attention to the importance of protecting modern architecture and design in Houston and Texas. In 2011 Preservation Texas expanded the program to a state-wide focus. Below is a list of events in Houston with a MOD twist throughout the month of April hosted by several of Houston Mod’s favorite organizations and institutions.
