Join Houston Mod as we venture beyond Texas for a modern architectural tour of Shreveport, Louisiana.
Lead by architectural historian and Master Mod Stephen Fox and architect, Guy Carwile. Mr. Carwile is the co-author of The Modernist Architecture of Samuel G. and William B. Wiener. The tour will begin on Friday afternoon and continue all day Saturday with a city-wide van tour. Sunday is on your own, however, the Houston Mod tour crew will likely lead an optional Sunday morning caravan to pack in a few more sites prior to heading back to Houston.
A long list of sites on the tour includes commercial and residential projects by Samuel and William Wiener, Richard Neutra and other notable architects.
The Hilton Garden Inn will serve as the tour home base. Rooms should be booked individually and are currently available for approximately $94 + tax per night. Please note that transportation to and from Shreveport, lodging, and daily meals are not included in the ticket price.
