From BOOMING HOUSTON AND THE MODERN HOUSE by Ben Koush:

“The classic image of modern outdoor living on the patio (preferably with martinis in hand) was first investigated by Harwood Taylor in his design for the Kaim House at 5203 Stamper Way of 1955… The Kaim House was the first of Taylor’s designs to show the influence of Mies’ brick walled courtyard house projects of the 1930s, particularly in its use of brick walls extending past the body of the house into the garden.”

This house was included in the 2005 RDA home tour.
