Stephen Fox describes the Letzerich house as “one of the most rigorous and beautiful examples of architecture in the Houston area inspired by the precepts of Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. Essentially this house was a larger version of Mies’s Farnsworth House, but framed in wood instead of steel. The house sat on a beautiful bayou setting until recently when it was sold to a building company which dismantled the house and, according to the previous owners “took it with them”.
