Joseph Krakower and Herb Greene designed this Frank Lloyd Wright-influenced house for David Lurie and Miriam Folloder in 1955. 54 years later, the house is still in the family. Herb Greene came to Houston in 1955 to work for Krakower as a `design consultant`, and this is one of the first commissions that showed his influence. Greene had worked for John Lautner in Los Angeles and for Bruce Goff in Oklahoma before moving to Houston. He would go on to design the Prairie House (also known as the Prairie Chicken House) in Oklahoma, as well as a number of custom, avant-garde residences throughout the country.
