Tucked behind the Richmond Corridor, many offices and garden apartment buildings are thriving. This one is one of the most Modernist of the bunch.
Stephen Fox describes the buildings in The Houston Architectural Guide: This pair of flat roofed, courtyard offices, detailed with exposed glue-laminated wooden beams, and connected, in the best Los Angeles style, by a roofed central drive-through.
The buildings are currently being restored, possibly with sympathetic additions, by Tackett Lodholz Architects. The building will become their offices. The results look like they will be extrordinary.
