From Ben Koush`s book, HUGO V. NEUHAUS, JR. :

Designed primarily by Herbert Cowell, this one- and two-story house was built for a friend from his college days in Kansas, Gordon E. Selig, who then worked for the Humble Oil & Refining Co., Selig`s wife, Bebe Clemens, and their two young children, Bebe and Robert.

The landscape architect was Fred Buxton.
