The Alabama Theater building is well-documented, well-redeveloped and well-loved by the community.
Built in 1939, the Alabama stopped showing movies in 1983. It was redeveloped in 1984 by Bookstop Corporation who utilized the services of architects Judith Urrutia of Chumney/Urrutia and Billy Lawrence (both of San Antonio).
The building was recently adapted for a Trader Joe`s store.
