Alden B. Dow, who was one of Frank Lloyd Wright`s most talented and successful apprentices, designed this house for Charles Reed, an executive at the Dow Chemical Company. Dow also planned and designed most of Lake Jackson,TX. MacKie & Kamrath were the project architects of record for the Reed house; they also managed most of Dow’s work in Lake Jackson, which included many private residences and public buildings. Though still standing, the interiors of the Reed house are no longer intact, and the columns on the exterior have been altered.
